Jana Gana Man - Instrumental

Save the Girl Child

people always pray for a boy
not for a girl
blessings of elders are for male
not for female
but when in need of wealth
people pray to ma laxmi
for success in education
people pray to ma saraswati
for removal of tension
people pray to ma amba

and to escape from the devil
 people pray to ma kali
now tell me, why do people hesitate to have a female in the family,
while those whom they pray to during trouble, are females?
 save the girl child!!!

if u don’t forward this message, nothing will happen to u,
your life will be as normal as it is now,
but forwarding it will surely spread the beautiful message!!
let’s give unconditional love to the girl child!!!

Happy Children's Day

Origin Of Children’s Day
20th November marks the anniversary of the “Declaration of the Rights of the Child” that was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1959. Furthermore, in 1989, on the same day, the Convention on the Rights of the child was signed. The main motive behind this convention was to promote child welfare and communal exchange between them all over the world. In India, Children’s Day was first celebrated in 1964 after Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru’s death. Nehru’s birth anniversary is commemorated as Children’s Day on 14th November every year.

Nehru was extremely fond of children and considered them to be the nation’s future. Nehru also played a significant role in the long freedom struggle to get India independent. Moreover, Nehru became India’s first Prime Minister after India achieved its independence. Hence, 14th November is not only commemorated as Children’s day, it also pays a tribute to the great and eminent politician and leader who fought for India’s independence. The occasion is marked by various cultural programs and events organized by schools and educational institutions across India.

a poem dedicates to children:-

My Childhood

My childhood was fun,
Tough and exciting,
My childhood was one,
Where there wasn't much fighting,
This is my childhood,
My childhood was filled,
With family and friend,
My childhood was filled,
With love and lots of happy holidays,

My childhood was filled,
With tricycles and bicycles,
My childhood is filled,
With lots of classwork and homework,
My childhood is filled,
With parents that don’t work,
A annoying loving brother and sister's,
This is my childhood,
My childhood is filled,
With a grandmother that was caring and loving,
When I left her,

I was hurt,
But it's for the best,
I remember the good and happy times,
We shared together,
This was my loving childhood,
That I will not forget,
This was my childhood.

IGNOU to extend full-time courses at regional centres

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University will soon extend the facility of full-time on campus programmes in its Regional Centres, Vice-Chancellor Professor Rajasekharan Pillai said here on Saturday.
He was speaking at “Aagmann”, a party organised by the IGNOU on-campus Students' Society to welcome new students. The function saw performances by hearing-impaired students and other full-time students.
University officials at the event said that the immediate goal of IGNOU is to facilitate good placements for its graduating students. They further stated that IGNOU currently has 22 full-time academic programmes with over 500 students. These full-time programmes were launched for the first time last year at the IGNOU's Delhi campus.
The USP of the university is that it is one of the few universities in which a student can pursue two academic programmes simultaneously.

Freshers’ party at IGNOU
‘Aagmann’, the Freshers’ party in IGNOU was recently organised by the  On-campus Students’ Society. The festival had performances by hearing impaired students and other full-time students. The function, which was attended by academics, staff and students of IGNOU was an astounding success.

On this occasion, IGNOU VC, Professor VN Rajasekharan Pillai said, “IGNOU is the only University in India in which a student can pursue two academic programmes at the same time. Like a student can pursue a Post Graduate programme and take admission in a certificate or diploma programme in the ODL mode simultaneously from the University. We are also extending the facility of full-time on-campus programmes in our Regional centres. Many Regional Centres will start full time programmes soon.”
